Evan moved into his remote country house with all the excitement and promise of a new start. Still working through the tragic loss of his partner, he needed to get away from the city--somewhere he wasn’t expecting to see Marcus around every corner.

He thought he’d found it until the noises began… then things began disappearing and turning up in bizarre places... not to mention the sound of his name in the middle of the night and the whisper of cold breath on his skin.

Passing it off as the settlings of an old house, Evan was terrified when the attacks became physical, leaving him bruised, battered and with a sense that whatever was in his house wanted him out, or dead—and it didn’t care which. Scared and alone, he does the only thing he can... he seeks help.

When Evan Griffin walks into the offices of paranormal investigators, Knight & Stone, Ross Stone is dumbfounded by the injuries the man bears. Injuries Evan insists were caused by an unseen assailant in his own home.

Something in the man’s eyes pulls at Ross’s heartstrings—a blend of fear, despair and a soul so weary that Ross feels a desperate need to alleviate Evan's pain.

But does Ross dare take the risk of getting close to Evan when he is being haunted by his own demons?
