FRIDAY FLASH FICTION

Hello my pretties and welcome to Flash Fiction, Friday where you will find one hundred words per week based upon a picture chosen at random by either myself or my other cohorts in this marvellous adventure.  Some may be turned into a continuing play, so make sure you follow the links both within the one hundred words and at the bottom of this post to see what delights await you.  This week's inspiration was chosen by Finless, the minx...

Hair fell like a curtain of silk around her shoulders, hints of gold glistening in the moonlight as she raised her arms.  He could tell, even from this far away, that she’d had a dancer’s training.  She stood on point, the curve of her hands and fingers fluid, as the sound of her humming was carried on the breeze.
He watched her, as he had done every year on this night since he was a boy.  As the light broke over the horizon, he watched her stretch and begin her slow walk back into the lake from whence she came…

Joining me today are a bevy of other beauties and a few gorgeous guys - fantastically talented authors who have contributed to this week’s Friday Flash Fiction: GO HERE  and click on their names to stop by their blogs and read five very different interpretations of the same picture.

Thank you for supporting Friday Flash Fiction.

See you next week!

  1. Loved it Lisa. So is she a Mermaid or something like that? I wouldn't have thought of that. Excellent job.

  10. Yes, the woman of the Lake, I have seen her myself. I damn near drowned once trying to catch her and then I woke up.

Nice Lisa, very touching and very surreal.

  14. Enthralling and beautiful imagery. I wonder if he should turn around and never look back, only keep her as a memory. On one hand I fear for his soul - on the other hand I fear for her freedom should he ever capture his elusive Lorelei.
