SIX SENTENCE SUNDAY!

SIX SENTENCE SUNDAY

I've taken this week's six from Thirst, my second novel, due for release by Silver Publising early 2012.

How I imagine Carter Gray to look :)

Blurb

Detective Max Bowman is hunting a serial killer terrorizing the city.  A serial killer who leaves the victims drained of blood, with an inscription carved into their chest.  A killer who leaves behind no finger prints, no clues, no ideas.

They are no closer to a break through and frustrated with the lack of progress, Max takes a break in a local bar.  Attacked by the attractive man buying him drinks, he is left for dead in the alley behind the bar. Waking up in Carter Gray's bed was the last thing he expected.  Who was this mysterious man?  What was his dark secret?  Why does he make Max tremble with anticipation every time their eyes meet?

Before long, it is apparent to Max that Carter is the only one with the 'expertise' to help him find the killer.  But is his attraction to Carter clouding his judgment and is he refusing to acknowledge that the killer may well be Carter himself?

****

In this scene, Max has woken up in Carter's bed and has an important question for the other man...but will he like the answer?

“What about the two men?  What happened to them?”
Carter looked into Max’s cautious hazel gaze and said quietly; “Are you sure you want me to answer that, Max?” He watched while Max deliberated for a few moments and then nodded.  Smiling softly, he spoke without hesitation:
“I killed them.”

Head on over to SSS to read all the other sixes on offer :)

  3. Thanks honey :)

It's a bit different from A Nanny for Nate, but I can't wait until it comes out.

Isn't he just the most gorgeous thing? If he was on the cover, I'd be in seventh heaven :)

  10. Whoa! I'm trying to remember if Carter was abused by the two men, in which case, let me just say: "Ah, my hero." Regardless, it was a great six! Loved the surprise at the end!
