My Addiction to MM Books
I have an addiction. There I said it. I can fully reveal I am enthralled with MM Books to the degree where I am now buying them in print instead of just e-book.
I love reading and lately I am finding lots of great books in the MM genre. Lots of new authors to explore plus so many stories to choose from, it’s a wonder I ever get any work done at my day job.
My honey says I have a fetish for this type of book. Who doesn’t like seeing two (or more) hot sexy guys go at it? I know, for me, that is one of life’s littlest pleasures. J Granted I am a straight woman in a loving relationship, there is something about MM books that leaves me wanting more…to read I mean. Get your mind out of the gutter, people. *grins*
I have gradually found so many wonderful GBLT authors to enjoy it’s hard for me keep up with them all. Sue Brown, Josh Lanyon, Lee Brazil, Andrew Grey, and many more are on my e-reader or on my flash drive file for MM books. I can’t pin point when I fell in love with this type of book but I know that, gradually, I have found my reading tastes have leaned further this way than a mix of MF stories that I normally have. I think this is because so many of my favorite authors are having books that appeal to me in some way-be it the genre crossing, emotional storylines or some intriguing characters that steal my heart.

I can’t help this addiction. It’s a compulsion I don’t want to end. There are too many wonderful authors I need to read and explore. Now if only I could find the time to read them all….*sighs*
Dawn Roberto is the owner of the LR Café yahoo loop and enjoys a good book or two on her downtime, what little there is? Dawn enjoys giving support to all authors-GBLT or not-the chance to get their books out to readers and enjoys pimping her favorites to friends. J

JASON MANNS
I was wondering what to waffle about today and then I saw the lovely Miss Kamryn's post on George Canyon and I thought "of course - you donut - introduce these wonderful people to Mr Manns!"
For any fan of Supernatural on the CW, starring Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, Jason Manns will already be a familiar name. Jason is one of Jensen's best friends and he is also an actor, songwriter and singer along with the numerous other strings to his bow. His music was featured in an episode of Supernatural, for as he says, about five seconds, and he was invited along as the musical guest to a British convention, which led to other conventions all over the world. Jason may have attracted people to his songs through his association with Jensen - but that is so far removed now, because he has a huge following of his own now.
The other thing about Mr Manns, apart from his wonderfully rich and soulful voice and the meaning behind the lyrics in his songs, is the fact that he is one of the genuinely nicest people I have ever met. I admit when I first went to one of his gigs where there were only about thirty of us crammed into a room above a pub, I was a little nervous and shy, what with him being friends with Jensen and everything...how stupid was I?
I am now Jason's number one stalker - lol. He is my friend on FB and we have interesting chats, usually with me demanding pictures of his guitar so I can have it tattooed on my shoulder - followed by him signing said tattoo at the last convention and then dedicating a song to me at his last gig.
He has a beautiful voice and his version of Jeff Buckley's Halleluah is absolutely heartbreakingly perfect.
And he's very easy on the eye too :)
So here's my favourite photo and some links to his performances, including my favourite song, Vision :)
TOTTIE TUESDAY!!
These have actually left me speechless....and we know that doesn't happen very often...
Purple is my favourite colour...
Pool anyone?
I'll take his confession
Oooh, I like a man who bends

Mini Fic Monday - #4 - Moonlight Becomes You
#4 - MOONLIGHT BECOMES YOU
Shawn remembered how it used to be. How Wade’s skin felt beneath his fingers. The softness of his love’s honey-toned flesh. Could pinpoint the moment his world, as he knew it, ceased to exist.
November 17, 2011.
Wade had made Shawn promise that, if they ever got separated, or if one of them was infected; they would move on, they wouldn’t try to find each other. They would remember how it used to be.
November 17, 2011 was when Shawn woke up and Wade was gone. They’d been traveling under the cover of daylight, as stupid as that may sound. But they were safe in the daylight. At least that’s what they’d thought.
They’d been living in Austin for three years when the first wave of the virus hit. Of course, the Government had tried to put a lid on it. Tried to make the country, the world, believe it wasn’t as bad as some panic-merchants were saying. What a big fat lie that had been. One more lie in a sea of lies. But then, Shawn had told his own. He’d promised he wouldn’t look for Wade. As if that was a promise he could ever keep. Wade was the very air that he breathed. Every beat of his heart an echo of Wade’s name.
So here he was, finally, staring into those beautiful green eyes once more. Eyes he thought he would never gaze into again. It had taken two years, but he was face to face with the love he could never leave behind.
“You promised not to look for me,” Wade’s voice was low and rich and rumbled from deep in his chest. His gaze raked over Shawn’s face, traveling down his body.
Shawn shook his head, but no words left his lips. The communication link always amazed him. How those infected with the virus could communicate with the mind instead of using speech. “I had my fingers crossed. You’d have done the same.”
“I know.” Wade yearned to reach out and grab Shawn to him, hold him in his arms, kiss the tiredness, the pain, the heartbreak from his blue eyes. But it was too late for that now. “You’ve made quite a name for yourself. Your work has not gone unnoticed.”
“You know me, if a job’s worth doing.” Shawn’s lips lifted in a weird imitation of a smile. “I missed you.”
Wade’s face lit up in the darkness. “Me too.”
“Was it that girl, from the abandoned diner?” Shawn’s gaze never left Wade’s although in his peripheral vision he could see the others moving closer.
“Yeah, she was gone by morning and then I started to notice the changes a few days later. The usual signs. She was obviously further along than we thought.”
“Is that why you were gone when I woke up that last morning?” Shawn ached to brush back the dark hair that fell across Wade’s forehead as he nodded. Of course, it was longer now. But Shawn liked it long, had liked to run his fingers through it and remembered the way it had slid like silk across his skin. “You didn’t say goodbye.”
“Baby, we’d said it a hundred times before. But when it came down to that last time, when it was for real— I just couldn’t do it.” Wade’s eyes glistened as the moon rose from behind a cloud and he looked up at the shining white orb hanging in the night sky. “So—I guess this is it.” His gaze fell to Shawn’s once more.
“I guess so.” Shawn shifted his weight as he took a step back in preparation. “Do you ever wonder where we’d be if this stupid virus hadn’t escaped into general population?”
“We’d be where we belong. Together.” Wade responded softly, his gaze staring deep into Shawn’s eyes. Eyes that he remembered filled with laughter, filled with love, the green so bright that it blinded Wade to everything but him.
“I love you.” Shawn said, his voice cracking and his green eyes incandescent in the light of the moon.
“And I love you.”
It was over in the blink of an eye. Everything was simultaneous. A terrifying growl, followed by a single gunshot. Silver bullets—at least the fairytales had been right about that one. They’d been right about precious little else.
“Are you okay?”
He heard the concern in the woman’s voice as she holstered her gun, not that she’d needed it. He’d fired the shot himself. When her hand dropped onto his shoulder, he looked up at her from his position on the floor, legs splayed wide, the huge wolf’s head in his lap. “There’ll be others. He was their pack leader.”
“I know,” he whispered, his voice raw in the quiet night air. “Keep watch. I’d like a few moments alone with my husband.”
“Of course, sir,” she murmured, moving away and herding the others in their team into a semi-circle around him, their guns drawn, their trigger fingers poised.
He stroked his hand through the wolf’s pelt. It felt soft beneath his fingers, soft and thick—the same sandy blond as it had been… before. His fingers trailed gently down the velvety snout and fanned around the now glassy green eyes.
Eyes still so bright that they blinded Wade to everything but him.
THE END

SIX SENTENCE SUNDAY!
Happy Six Sentence Sunday everybody!
This week's six are from my completed novel "Thirst". Let me set the scene:-
Carter has found a young man battered and broken in the alley behind the bar he had been drinking in. He had dealt with the attackers in his own way...
THIRST
Carter slid behind the wheel, his green eyes glittering in the muted glow from the dome light as he closed the door behind him. A small smile lifted his lips as he headed his car toward home. The two men who had robbed and beaten Max and left him for dead had already paid for what they’d done. Glancing up into his rear-view mirror, he parted his lips and ran his tongue down his elongated incisors.
They wouldn’t be hurting anyone ever again, and he wasn't thirsty anymore.
See you next week! Don't forget to check out all the other wonderful entries over at

HOT JULY DAYS - M/M GROUP ON GOODREADS
Morning lovelies!
It's nearly July, not long to wait now for the beginning of M/M's Hot July Days and I, for one, am excited to read all the delicious stories everyone has come up with to go with the photos they picked.
So...how about a little taste of my story, based on the prompt and the photo posed by the lovely Desert Rose...
Just One Kiss
Matt lay awake, watching the shadows from the tree outside the bedroom window play across the ceiling, listening to the soft snuffling of the warm body curled around his. He glanced down at the dark head resting on his shoulder and couldn’t help the smile that curved his lips. The sleeping face beside him was so familiar, and yet it was as though he was seeing it for the first time. How had they got here? Where did they go from here? Did they sweep it under the carpet? Laugh it off as a one-time thing, never to be mentioned again?
Matt sighed and scrubbed a hand over his face, the movement causing the arm draped across his waist to tighten in protest. He had no idea what they were supposed to do now – what etiquette you were meant to follow after you had sex with your best friend. Especially when your best friend was a guy and you were both supposed to be straight. Pulling Cam closer still, he laid his head on the other man’s hair and closed his eyes, replaying in his mind the evening they had spent together. A totally, ordinary, average, run of the mill evening of basketball and beer...
I hope that entices you to check out Hot July Days...see you next Friday !

Friends with Benefits
Woke up this morning wondering what insightful words of wisdom I could come up with today. As you will see from the title...not a lot.
Then I was chatting to a special friend of mine, and I suddenly wondered how many people would admit to having a friend who goes above and beyond...or should it be beneath...the call of duty?
I'm sure we all know what the term "friends with benefits" refers to. A friend, whether they be male or female, who satisfies your needs for more than coffee and a piece of cake, who offers more than a shoulder to cry on.
Okay, you're all thinking, put your money where your mouth is, Lisa, do you have one?
I have a couple actually. Let's call them Paul and Terry...and why not, that's their names. I came out of an unhappy relationship and met these guys through other friends. Not at the same time I hasten to add! I wasn't (and am still not) ready for any emotions to take priority, or to have-quotey fingers- a "Relationship", and neither are they.
So we became friends that has developed into something that suits both parties-at the moment, anyway. Yeah, I know that eventually I may have to fish or cut bait or, what is that wonderful expression a friend of mine used the other day, shit or get off the pot! And yes, there may be the desire for more on their part, (does that sound bigheaded?) but for the moment, I am happy to drift along as we are, and so are they.
I have my life, i.e. my kids, my kids, my kids, and my writing and then I have my 'other' life where I get to be a woman rather than a mother. I have to admit, I quite like it.
So...anyone else wanna 'fess up?

TASTE TEASER - LAUREL HEIGHTS
Good morning world!!!!
Because of my lack of gorgeous bods yesterday, I thought I'd make it up to you wonderful people with a little taste teaser of my current WIP.
I shall set the scene for you....Scott and Will are undercover at Laurel Heights, sent there after the apparent murder/suicide of two of its residents. Not a problem, they're cops, they've been undercover before...but Laurel Heights is quirkier than most small communities...all the residents are gay. They also indulge in 'gatherings' once a month where they indulge in some partner-swapping and the like.
But there is something a little quirky about Scott and Will, too - 1. They're both gay. 2. Neither knows that the other is gay.
This scene is set in the garden on the day of their first 'gathering' when Scott decides that he has to see if the 'straight kid' can make it through a simple kiss, without freaking out - and gets more than he bargained for:-

Looking up as the back door opened and Scott approached him with a mug of coffee in each hand, Will tried to smile.
“Here,” Scott held out the cup in his left hand, his brow furrowing above his nose. “You okay?”
“Yeah, I'm good.” Will tried to sound nonchalant as he took the cup from Scott's fingers and sipped at the desperately needed caffeine fix.
“Sure you are.” Scott’s voice was heavy with sarcasm. “You're freaking out about tonight aren't you?” Scott swallowed a mouthful of his own drink, and rolled his eyes at the pained expression on Will’s face in answer.
“Okay,” Scott put his mug of steaming coffee down on the table and plucked Will’s out of his hand, standing it next to the other mug. “Look, man. We're two straight guys about to go to our first gay gang bang.”
Will's eyes widened in panic when Scott nudged his knees together and sat astride his thighs. “What are you doing?” His voice sounded like he’d been sucking on helium and he tried not to lean into Scott's fingers as they stroked his bangs from his eyes.
“We’re no closer to getting any information to break this case. It’s obvious these gatherings have something to do with what happened to Jon and Cory. We ain’t getting out of tonight, Harrison, so—” Scott continued the thread his fingers through Will’s thick hair. “We need to suck it up and get comfortable with the whole touching business, right now.” He took a deep breath, picked up Will's hands and put them on his own hips. “Close your eyes,” he said, his tone matter of fact as he cupped Will's cheek with the hand that wasn't buried in soft, blond locks.
“Scott—”
“Close your fucking eyes, Will. I'm going to kiss you, and you're going to kiss me back, you got it?”
“Why are you yelling at me?” Will huffed, momentarily forgetting he had one hundred and eighty pounds of Weston on his lap.
“Because you're freaking out! One touch from someone tonight is going to have you running for the hills and you'll blow our cover wide open. I am not ending my career as a beat cop. I've worked long and hard and made sacrifices to get to where I am, and I’m not going to let you ruin it. Now fucking kiss me!” Scott hissed out through clenched teeth. In one swift move, Scott leaned down and captured Will's lips in his in a brief kiss. Pulling back, their mouths parting with a soft snick, he looked into Will's eyes. “Okay?” Will’s nod was a mere inclination of his head, but it was there and so Scott leaned in again.
The first thought that crossed Will’s mind was how soft Scott’s lips were. But then he didn’t have much time to consider anything else, because Scott put more pressure behind the kiss. The tip of the other man’s tongue tentatively requested entrance to his mouth, and his lips parted of their own volition. When Scott’s tongue slid into his mouth and gently caressed his, all thoughts were pushed from his mind other than: Feels. So. Good.
Will's fingers curled into the denim of Scott's jeans when the man’s fingers gripped tighter into his hair, making delicious heat unfurl in his belly. He couldn't stop himself from pulling Scott in closer, and felt, rather than heard, the man's whimper as he ran his hands up the length of Scott’s back. He loved the way the muscles rippled beneath his touch and what blood there was still left in his brain, rapidly headed South. The tongue sliding sensuously around his mouth tasted of coffee and he licked the bitter remnants away until all he could taste was Scott. He liked it. He wanted more of it. All of it.
Will’s hands searched beneath the hem of Scott’s T-shirt of their own volition, desperately wanting to feel the warmth of bare flesh against his skin. Which was when Scott broke the kiss, quickly pushed himself off Will’s lap and grabbed his coffee. Will stared up at him, his breath panting through his parted lips.
“Okay,” Scott cleared his throat and nodded at Will. “I think we can manage kissing.”
