Mini Fic Monday - #1: Yummy!

I've decided to write some flash fic to wet your appetites.  Here is the first instalment of Mini Fic Monday:

#1: Yummy

“I’m not sure I like this,” Mack hissed, his fingers tightening around those entangled with his.  “If you’re leading me into a room full of family and friends, I swear to God they will never find the body.”
Brody snorted inelegantly.  “As if I would do that to you,” he replied, pulling Mack slightly to the right and urging him forward.  “You’re hurting my feelings.  I’m the love of your life.  Aren’t you supposed to trust me or something?”
“You’re not the one who’s blindfolded while stark naked, Peters, so let’s not talk about trust issues,” Mack said, his words dripping with sarcasm.
“Stop bitching.  I’m naked too,” Brody chuckled.  “You’re going to love it.  Trust me.”
Mack wished he felt as confident as Brody sounded as his boyfriend continued to lead him around their house.  They were currently on their fourth circuit, so he had lost his bearings completely and their comfy home had now become confusing and unsettling.  Earlier, as they lie in bed, their limbs entangled, fingertips whispering over muscled skin, it had seemed like a fun idea when Brody had suggested the blindfold.  Nice – safe – kinky fun.  Until the lights had been turned out by a black silk scarf tied around his head and Brody had begun to lead him a merry dance around the house.
“Where are we?  The kitchen?” Mack questioned, when the carpet underfoot changed to cold tile.  Brody’s: “Ssssh” was the only reply he received as he let his boyfriend guide him across the room.
“Here,” Brody said softly, letting go of one of Mack’s hands and sliding his fingers down Mack’s thigh and cupping his calf.  “I’m going to help you lift your leg, are you ready?”
Mack reached out with his now free hand and found Brody’s naked shoulder, gripping the muscled skin tightly, as Brody lifted his leg and lowered his toes into warm water.  The bathroom, I knew it! He thought with a smile.  He didn’t let go of Brody until he was standing in the bath, the soft swirl of water lapping against his calves.  With Brody’s guidance, he lowered himself down and snuffled when some bubbles tickled his nose.  The water swelled and droplets splashed onto his forearms like raindrops were they rested on either side of the tub, when Brody climbed in opposite him and settled in the water.
Mack sighed contentedly when Brody’s foot brushed teasingly against his thigh.  He didn’t need his eyes to see the other man leaning back at the other end of the tub, his black hair falling around his face and neck in a shock of curls.  Didn’t need to be looking to know that Brody’s dark blue, almost navy gaze was tracing the curve of his face and down the muscles of his chest.  He felt it.  He knew every curve and muscle in Brody’s body; had traced each a million times with his hands and his tongue.  Mack felt his cock stiffen against his thigh for the second time that evening as the anticipation became too much in the silence of the room.  “So, you gonna stare at me all night?” His voice sounded husky to his own ears and he nearly lost complete control when Brody’s deep, Texan drawl echoed around the room.
“Oh baby, I’m gonna do a lot more than stare.”
Mack gasped when the water swelled around him once more as he felt Brody move and kneel between his open thighs.  He arched his neck when Brody’s lips burned a path up his throat to kiss-bite along his jaw, getting closer and closer to his mouth.  “Brody,” he moaned, his fingers curling around the edge of the tub.  “Don’t tease. Don’t-mmf,” he grunted when something thick and wet dripped onto his upper lip.  His tongue snaked out to taste and he groaned deep in his throat.  “Chocolate?” he rasped.  “I think I just fell in love with you all over again.”
“Sssh,” Brody replied.  “Busy.”
Mack let out an unmanly whimper when he felt Brody’s fingers smear melted chocolate around his nipples and then slowly lap at them with kitten licks of his pointed tongue. “Holy Fuck, Brode,” he groaned, his hands lifting to touch any part of Brody he could reach, and having his hands slapped away as Brody continued with his assault; dripping the chocolate on his torso and wiping it in stripes on his face before removing it with his tongue and then sliding his lips across Mack’s time and time again, sharing the sweetness with him.
When Brody finally arranged them so that the blindfolded man was now between his thighs, Mack was a writhing mess of wanton need.  As he was guided down onto Brody’s hardness, Mack threw his head back and cried out as his senses were overloaded.  Sparks shot out to all his nerve endings while he rode his boyfriend under the guidance of the firm hands on his waist; and he was swept away on a dark sea as his orgasm rocketed through him, Brody following shortly after.
Settled back in the water, his back against Brody’s heaving chest and his limbs heavy and sated, Mack sighed when Brody’s tongue chased a smear of chocolate he had missed behind Mack’s ear.  “That was-that was-” he waved his hand in the water, grinning contentedly and rubbing his face against Brody’s neck like a satisfied cat.  Mack snorted out a laugh when Brody finished his sentence for him with a simple:
“Yummy.”

Blurb for Running from the Past - Release Date 15 June 2011

Deputy Sheriff Ford Mitchell has made what might be the biggest arrest in the history of Eagle River, Alaska. Noah Beckett is wanted on four outstanding warrants for drug charges and one for questioning in the murder of a prostitute.

All Ford has to do is deliver his prisoner to the DEA in Miami and he can wash his hands of him – a task that would be a whole lot easier if Noah wasn’t also the man Ford loves.

Blurb for Nanny for Nate

Parker Adams is a busy lawyer in LA.  When his husband, Darren, is tragically killed in a hit and run, it falls to him to try and balance work with their son, Nate, a rambunctious seven year old.  Over a year on, Parker's still finding it difficult to maintain that balance and Nate spends more time at the babysitter's than he should. Until the babysitter decides to move and suggest that they may benefit from a live-in nanny.

Parker's choices are narrowed down to Melanie Roberts, a straight-laced, sturdy young woman who combined the right combination of a firm hand in a velvet glove.  Or Jake Walsh, six feet six of muscled Adonis with a fun-loving attitude and who immediately awoke stirrings deep within Parker that he thought had died with Darren.

Guilt-ridden by his reaction to Jake, Parker offers Melanie the job.  However, due to a mix-up, when he opens the front door to the new nanny, he finds Jake Walsh on the doorstep.  What does he do now?  Tell Jake that there has been a mistake and cause his son further upset?  Or does he bite the bullet and hope he can ignore the obvious attraction between him and Jake?

A Nanny for Nate - release date 18 June 2011

Just thought I'd give you a tiny taste tease of my upcoming book which is released by Silver Publishing on the 18 June 2011 - cover by the wonderful Reese Dante.

Nate looked out of his bedroom window again. He felt a little nauseous, mainly because he knew Pop was going to be so mad he would probably be grounded for the rest of his life. He grabbed his cell phone off the table and scrolled through his contacts for Marcus, not that it took very long since he only had three other numbers stored in the little phone book: Pop, Uncle Clay, and Grandma.
"Hey, what's up?" Marcus' voice sounded tinny as it bounced off towers and networks before it reached Nate's ear. "Has he killed you yet?"
"No," Nate hissed back. "I'm scared. Jake's gonna be here any minute, and Pop's gonna figure it out!"
"Nathaniel," Marcus drawled with all the confidence of a nearly-ten-year-old. "Your Pop is just going to think he put the letters in the wrong envelopes. He'll think he's the one who made the mistake. He's never gonna guess it was you."
"Us!" Nate insisted.
"Hey, I didn't do nothing," Marcus said, his tone filled with innocence. "All I did was tell you how to steam open the envelope. You're the one who swapped Jake and Melanie's letters."
"What if he tries to make Jake leave as soon as he gets here?" Nate questioned, peeking through his curtains again.
"Jeez, don't you know anything?" Marcus said derisively.
"Huh?"
"If he tries to send Jake away, cry like a baby," Marcus retorted. "Works every time."

And here's a little taster:

“WHY me?” Ford complained, his sandy blond hair falling into his face with the shake of his head. “Isn’t it enough that I arrested the son of a bitch, now you want me to hold his hand on the way back to Miami?” He glared at the sheriff, knowing by the stoic expression on the older man’s face that the subject was not open for discussion. “Come on, Dad… what about the extended vacation you promised me?”

“Once you hand him over to the DEA, consider yourself on vacation,” Will Mitchell replied, looking back down at the extradition paperwork in front of him. “They want my best man on this one, Ford, and that’s you.” He raised a sardonic eyebrow. “What do you want me to do, send Arnie?” He chuckled at the roll of Ford’s jade green eyes when he mentioned Eagle River’s other deputy. Arnie was just about ready to retire or keel over, no one was sure which would come first. “Come on, son, let’s face it, you know Beckett better than his mother does, so go home and pack up your Speedo, you’re going to Miami.”

Back at his desk in the outer office, Ford flopped down onto the chair and ran his hands through his hair. This was not happening to him. This could not happen to him. Why was this happening to him? He’d made the arrest, hadn’t he? Probably the biggest arrest in the history of Eagle River since Manny Webber got drunk and killed his wife because she forgot to put sugar in his coffee. He’d put the cuffs on Beckett himself, read him his rights, and now all he wanted to do was forget he’d ever laid eyes on the lowlife, but instead he was having to hand-deliver the lying scumbag to the Miami DEA, who shouldn’t have let him get away in the first place. If they hadn’t he wouldn’t have… they wouldn’t have—Shaking his head to clear the thought before it could take him down a road he had no desire to travel, he fired up his PC and Googled flights to Miami.

“FOR God’s sake, will you please talk to me? It’s been four days.”

Ford ignored the plainly frustrated tone of the deep, rich voice and kept his eyes firmly trained on the screen in front of him wishing, not for the first time in the last four days, that the cells weren’t opposite the deputy’s station.

“Ford, would you just—”

“Unless the next words out of your mouth are that it was your evil twin on America’s Most Wanted,” Ford said in a clipped monotone, stabbing the keys so hard that the keyboard slid across his desk and he was forced to pull it back toward him, “then there is nothing you have to say that I could possibly be interested in,”

“How about, I’m innocent and… I love you?”

Glancing up from the flat screen on his desk, Ford frowned at the man. He was standing at the door of the cell with his fingers curled around the bars and his forehead pressed against the metal. “Of course you are, but there are five outstanding warrants in Miami that say different,” Ford drawled, purposely ignoring the second half of his prisoner’s sentence, “including one in relation to the murder of one Vicky Nugent. God, Noah.” He couldn’t have prevented the break in his voice if he’d wanted to. “Was anything you said true?”

“Okay… I may have told a few white lies about my past,” Noah replied, his fingers curling and uncurling around the bars. “But you and me, that was the truth, Ford. How can you doubt that? You know how I feel about you. About us.”

Pushing his chair back and getting to his feet, Ford picked up his coffee cup and ground out through gritted teeth, “I don’t know anything anymore.”

I know it's not Saturday - but I couldn't resist....

Writer's Arse/Head - which is bigger?

Morning world!

In my profession as a writer, I'm not sure what's getting bigger these days, my arse or my head.  My arse because I spend so much time sat on it - I can feel the damn thing spreading every day.  But my head has grown a few inches with a few simple words from a writer I greatly admire and have the fortune to call my friend.  Yes!  I mean you Patricia Logan!

Of course, because she is my friend she has to tell me I am a master of the written word, but my embarrassed "Shut up" was waved away and she left me feeling, as always, that I can do anything.

Now if I could just get my two characters off, I'm sure they'd be happy.  Poor Noah has balls the size of melons and Sebastian is currently alternating between reading a book and doing the crossword - because I've had them on the edge of orgasm for the last three days.  Bless them - they haven't made a word of complaint :)

Anyway, here's a little picture to keep you going while I try to send the pair of them off the abyss and floating into oblivion!

It Starts Early :(

I wasn't sure whether to post this, and I know that he's too young to understand what he said, but I felt the need to tackle this with my son.

Arguing with Gracie last night, Alex decided that when the usual come backs and pokes and prods were not having any effect, he pushed her and said, "You're so gay!"

I asked him why he'd said that to his five year old sister and he said it was because she was annoying him.  I then went on to enquire as to whether or not he actually knew what being gay meant, because he is after all only seven and I haven't exactly discussed the finer points of sexuality with him yet.  He said his friend had told him it was when two ladies or two men kiss each other.  I agreed that people are gay do kiss each other and that he was perfectly correct - but asked why he felt the need to call his sister "gay" because he was annoyed with her.  He said it was because his friend's dad said it was wrong for two men to kiss each other, or two ladies.

So basically what it boils down to is that because of the bigotry and ignorance of someone else's parent, my son and some of his classmates have been using the term "gay" as a derogatory remark.  As you can imagine, given my choice of genre which puts those little extra treats in his hands, I was rather annoyed myself.

I explained to my son that it is perfectly normal for someone to be gay.  That it doesn't matter who you love.  What matters is that you love them and they love you.  I explained that some families have two daddies, some have two mummies and others have a mummy and a daddy, like ours does.  But that doesn't mean that the ones that have two of the same parent are any different than ours, because they all have one thing in common.  The most fundamental and important thing in common.    I was very proud when Alex interrupted me and said, "Is it that they all love each other?"  I agreed that that was the most important factor in any family, regardless of its make up - that they all love the same.

He promised me that he wouldn't listen to what other people say anymore and will only make up his own mind.  I hope I am instilling in him the fact that he is his own person and free to be whatever and with whoever he wants to be, because at the end of the day, he is a wonderful boy with the capacity for lots of love and it is his decision who he gives that to, not someone else's daddy.

Yay! I'm finally here !

I think I've finally cracked it!

Not entirely sure how interesting my blogs are going to be...but I'll see what I can come up with.  I'm sure they'll be mostly filled with anecdotes from my children, such as "You're the squishiest mummy in the whole world", or my own personal favourite, "I think you only had me so you had someone to shout at."  (My son is a genius!)

I'm sure there'll be lots of randomness and hopefully some release dates for my stories (fingers crossed).

Anything you want to know - give me a shout :)
